A Fun Afternoon with Uncle Kevin.

We spent this past weekend in Madison visiting Dad and Alyssa's Uncle Kevin. It took a little bit for Alyssa to warm up to her uncle, but once she did..well...let's just say Kevin sometimes has the mind of a toddler....

They spent a good 20 minutes in the kitchen playing with oven mitts.

Alyssa was laughing so hard at one point that I think she snorted.

(Sorry about how dark this video is - Dan took it in the living room and Alyssa and Kevin were in the kitchen. Oh, and ignore my conversation with my Dad - we're talking about truck tents, which has nothing to do with the video.)

Notice how Ginger gets in on the fun?

Thank you, Uncle Kevin for being so entertaining!

Introducing the next Miss Hawaii...

Remember this awesome vacation I went on last summer?
Well, that cute couple welcomed a baby girl this past weekend.
May I introduce my newest cousin.....
Chloe Tan Heahlke was born on Saturday, February 6th at 8:00 PM in Honolulu, Hawaii.
She was 7 lbs and 20 in long.
Mommy, baby and Daddy are doing great!
Isn't she just a darling? I just think she's so beautiful!
This pic makes her look so big, but I know she's just a tiny little thing - Alyssa was 7 lbs and 20 inches, too!
Matt and Jen - I am so very happy for you!
Congrats to Uncle Howie and Aunt Susan - you will be AWESOME grandparents!
Congrats to Megan - Chloe couldn't ask for a better auntie!
On a side note - this is Great-grandbaby #4 for my Grandparents, and so far, they are all girls!!

I Have Decided...

As long as one room in my house is picked up/clean on any given day, I will be a happy person. Trying to keep all rooms picked up is apparently an impossible task for the Prenkert Household.

Just tryin' to keep it real...

Lasagna.

Lasagna is the bane of my existence.

I made it again last night, and again I was disappointed. Not enough cheese, too much ricotta, and my sauce was watery. Every time I make lasanga I am disappointed. Blah...

I want so bad to make a great lasanga. One that is the perfect mixture of creamy, cheesy, and saucy. Actually, one that is really saucy - thick and saucy, mind you - NOT watery.

I have tried so many different recipes out there and I'm just having one "h-e-double hockey sticks" of a time finding one that is right for me. I want mine to turn out just like Prego's frozen lasagna - that's what I want - I LOVE that one......

Anyone have any suggestions?

Weekend Woes.

Just in case anyone was looking for any of the alcohol at Beezers...I drank it all Saturday night.

I'm getting to old for this s***.

New Year's Eve Fun!

Okay, so I know that New Year's Eve has come and gone, but here are a few highlights of our evening...
Jeny and Travis had us all over to eat yummy fondue and play Wii Rock Band. Let is be known that I played all the instruments AND sang, and only got booed of stage once - because I have no rhythm on the drums.
Here's Jeny, rocking out.
This is me and Plunger Kaus. He's one of my favorite doggies.
Beth and Sabrina - concentrating really hard.
Here's the hubby singing to probably a Beatles song. He did pretty good, as long as he knew the song pretty well. He also made rude comments into the mic.
After Rock Band, we played a few card games and Apples to Apples. I lost horribly at Higher/Lower, and spent most of the evening with heartburn.
Note to self - don't play Higher/Lower with Smirnoff - it give you gut ache.
I also ate some f***** Doritos! Yum!
All in all, a good time was had by all!

More Pics From the Holidays.

Here's a few more pics from Christmas and our vacation.
The stuffed animal in this pic is a monkey that's holding baby monkeys. Is sings a song, and Alyssa LOVED it! She kept wanting to carry it around Aunt Tara's house all day on Christmas. I grew rather tired of the music, however...
Here's my great-nephew, Jayden! He's getting to be such a big boy!
While we were at the cabin, Alyssa became fairly obsessed with sitting in her booster chair. She wanted me to put it on the couch and strap her in.
I obliged, of course - my baby gets what she wants...most of the time...
Alyssa loved to snuggle with Grandpa before bedtime. Aren't they a cute couple?
